Adding a FAC

Is  it  possible to  define  a  FAC with  an  internet  style address?  I  am
attempting  to do  so  with  little success.  LISTSERV  does  not reject  the
address but only seems  to be picking up the first 13  characters of the node
name.  The result of the PUT is:
 
*:    PSY = [log in to unmask] /*      xxxxx xxxxxxxxxx               */
 
It is specified in LISTSERV FILELIST as:
 
*+ [log in to unmask]      xxxxx xxxxxxxxxx
