Is it possible to suppress the sending of that automatically
generated "You are now subscribed..." message?  My group will
be the ultimate in low traffic (important announcements only,
basically), and the students only need to know how to
unsuscribe and check subscription status (both of which I
do in my custom message).  Since inexperienced users feeling
overwhelmed is a major concern, I'd like to toggle that off it
possible.
