This is probably the "best" way, because:
 
1. It will do what you want.
 
2. It is "logical" and therefore easy to remember and likely to work in
   the next release as well.
 
3. It doesn't require an inordinate amount of staff or computer time.
 
4. The potential for damaging things badly is very low.
 
If you had 2000 newsletters to process in this fashion, I would probably
have said something else :-)
