I have encountered a slight problem with Listserv 1.8a (both VM and Unix
versions) in dealing with authority checking on e-mail. In particular,
we have a local list that is 'Review=Private'. We also have a campus-wide
email system, and several subscribers who are on the list as [log in to unmask]
I am getting bitten as follows:

I send to the list, with a From: [log in to unmask] MH 6.8 then
appends a 'Sender: [log in to unmask] to the headers, on the quite
reasonable grounds that the From: is not where we're sending (a la
RFC822, section 4.4.2). Listserv then says 'not authorized' because the
Sender: doesn't match the entry in the list ([log in to unmask]).

Anybody have any thoughts on this? As we move more towards campus-wide
mail, this is going to start affecting more people. Can Listserv be
told to look at the From: instead? Does this introduce problems?
