Proposed Topic Name: DATALINK
 
General Topic: "Data Link" research activities and interests;
  Data Link involves the two-way message exchange of air traffic
  control clearances instructions, weather information, etc.  What
  has been traditionally a radio-voice environment for years, pilots
  and controllers will now exchange information through a "data link" medium,
  such as satellite, VHF ACARS, or MODE-S.  Information will be displayed on
  ground and cockpit text display systems.
 
Target Audience: Government, Academic and Industry researchers involved in
  and/or interested in the design of data link related systems.  Those interested
  in the flightdeck human factors/ergonomics side are specially targeted.
  Initial focus is in the air transport industry.
