This works as designed. By definition, LISTSERV sits in the BITNET domain
(this  will  be necessary  until  LISTSERV  can  be modified  to  support
multiple domains  for various  sources of information,  and that  means a
complete rewrite or a major change). If you have a local .XYZ.EDU domain,
that's fine, but that's not the default domain for LISTSERV; just specify
[log in to unmask] in the  ADD command, and everything  should work as
you expect it to.
