It needn't to be said that from any point of view the listserv DATABASE
(LSVTALK/LDBASE) are the most helpful tools the everyday users have to
seriously work with lists. BUT ...
Does someone else has come across the usefulness of the Listserv
DATABASE in the kind of list like INFO-MAC, IBMPC-L,... ??
Because of the list definition, due to the editorial task management
needed (?), the notebooks are not saved as 'fn LOG89004 fm' but rather
as 'fn 89-00004 fm'.
This differentiation reflect the fact that in the second ones
(INFO-MAC, IBMPC-L...) each notebook is cosidered as a single NOTE and
thus, the searching becomes extremely inefficient.
Should it be interesting to recommended to the editors to include at the
end of each item, or even set of items, a tag indicating the end of a
subject ? A single == may work?
/Xavier
