A followup to my 8 May 1996 posting to LSTSRV-L
(S * IN LSTSRV-l FROM 96/05/08 TO 96/05/08 WHERE SENDER CONTAINS PMW1)

When LISTSERV does :NEWNODE processing to convert existing BITNET
subscriptions to (presumably) Internet FQDNs, it does so ONLY for
the BITNET node and not other :INTERNET FQDNs that have
previously been subscribed/equivalenced (perhaps having been
ADDed manually).

Thus, if your mail system can NOT generate e-mail from a generic
NAD address e.g., POSTMASTER@:internet.equiv.fqdn, then you are
SOL in LISTSERV-controlling those userids.

When Bitnet node PSUADMIN had :internet.oas.psu.edu,
psuadmin.psu.edu my NAD account pmw1@psuvm could control one
Bitnet and two Internet FQDN addreses.

When we ADDed a :NEWNODE tag (.oas.psu.edu). not only could
pmw1@psuvm no longer control any of the above addresses, but
[log in to unmask] could NOT control @psuadmin.psu.edu (nor
were @psuadmin.psu.edu userids converted to @oas.psu.edu during
the :NEWNODE processing).

Removing :NEWNODE alleviated that lack of control.
