The GET PACKAGE discussion, and that LISTSERV won't split packages but
at present LISTEARN will, brings up this point:

Please state which Listserv (LISTSERV or LISTEARN) and which version
you are writing about when you post something. You might even mention
it in the subject, if it's pertinent.

Most LISTSERV sites are running 1.6-something. The highest version I
know of (until a re-numbering scheme is established) for LISTEARN is
1.5o. The version can be determined by 'tell offending listserv RELEASE'
(perhaps the LISTEARN servers could/should say they are in their response
to the RELEASE command ?).

With LISTSERV and LISTEARN developing separately (ultimately requiring
some form of gateway), perhaps there should be a LISTEARN mailing list,
too ?
