>(1) can we include files to be shipped automatically when someone subs?

No, but you can include text by making a 'listname MAILFORM' with
modified versions of the appropriate mailforms.

>(2) how do we change the From: so it reads "LISTNAME <LISTSERV@node>"
> rather than "Revised List Processor (1.6d) <LISTSERV@node>"

You can't, and this really sounds like a silly thing to me. I mean I send
a HELP command to your LISTSERV and it comes back saying 'From: XYZ-L
list <LISTSERV@node>'? The best you can hope is to confuse the users.

>(3) how do we enter an apostrophe in the text of the LISTNAME MAILFORM
> file so it REALLY comes out as an apostrophe and doesn't change the
> case of the following word(s) or letter(s)?

All quotes have to be doubled within a MAILFORM. An opening quote
indicates the beginning of something to be interpreted, ie a REXX
variable or function.
