A user here sends mail from his usual email account to get on a list.
But the user would like the subscription to have the address of our
mail forwarder on a different system. (This mail forwarder allows
users to move to other systems around the campus while giving out
only one address.)

The user was able to do this by adding the mail header Sender: with
his address on the mail forwarder. Listserv accepts this.

Later the user wants to signoff of the list. Mail from his usual account
does not match the address of the mail forwarder that he specified for
the subscription. Seems reasonable.

I found a solution to this, have the user send mail again, adding the
Sender: with the his address on the mail forwarder.

My comment:
I would like to see Listserv not honor Sender: records in determining
the subscription address.
