It <may> be that  the user is served OUT - meaning  that perhaps the user
entered  too  many  wrong commands  in  a  row,  or  had a  goofy  'GONE'
look-alike program, which did not send  back a '*' as the first character
of its 'I AM NOT HERE RIGHT NOW' message.
 
if  the user  is served  out, a  SERVE userid@nodeid  command should  fix
