I have "Errors = Owner" in the keyword defs for most of my lists.
Under 1.7f this has the effect of sending the error mail to:
   [log in to unmask]

However, XMAILER says the long (>8 char) userid is not legal and it
cannot deliver the message. Ultimately all LISTSERV error mail ends
up being sent to POSTMAST (which is not desirable). I'd like the
error mail to get back to the listowner and only the listowner.

I tried changing the keyword file entry to "Errors [log in to unmask]".
While I did not check to see if the errors were sent to the userid,
(at least) a copy still went out to owner-listname, and was
eventually rerouted to POSTMAST.

What is the best way to deal with this problem - an alias in the
XMAILER tables? Sone change to the LISTSERV config?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
