If  a  list  is  "Validate=  Store only",  it  doesn't  require  password
validation and you won't get  the message. Otherwise, password validation
is required.  If you  happen to  have a password  on the  target LISTSERV
(note that  this could well  not have been  a NETWIDE delete),  fine, the
deletion is  done. If you don't,  it's treated as a  SIGNOFF command from
the user and forwarded to the list owners for validation.
