Following  a successful  beta-test  programme with  5 production  systems
(including  two  national  Internet<->BITNET  gateways  and  one  of  the
INTERBIT systems), LMail is being  made generally available. The first GA
version  will be  1.1a, to  avoid confusion  with the  beta-test versions
(1.0). To  order LMail, just send  mail to ERIC@SEARN from  the userid of
the person who will be in charge of maintaining the server, and make sure
to tell me your NJE userid if sending from a workstation.
 
Reminder: discussions  about LMail  should be held  on the  LMAIL-L list.
This is the list where annoucements  of future LMail versions and release
notes will be  posted. There will be no further  announcement about LMail
on the lists this message is being cross-posted to.
