I originally posted this note on the EASE-HOME list. A member of that list
suggested that this LIST would be a better place to ask for help...

This problem probably has nothing to do with the LISTSERV program, but I'm
hoping that someone out there has experienced the problem before and would
have a suggestion as to where I should look to resolve it.

I'm am the owner of a list which is on our "listserv" machine, a Compaq
Pro-something running Windows NT 3.5.1. It has been running smoothly until
about a month ago. Now, whenever anyone sends a note to the list, it is
sent out successfully to all subscribers of the list. But then, several
hours later, the sender gets three "Rejected posting to..." messages.

I tend to collect lots of details when I'm trying to solve a problem. Here
are some of them which may be irrelevant. The first rejection message
comes a few hours after the original, successful posting. The second
always follows about five minutes later and the third is within the same
minute as the second. There is never any more than three rejection
messages nor less than three. I think the rejection messages are
identical, but as I write this I realize that I haven't done a byte for
byte comparison to see if there are subtle differences.

LISTSERV is obviously doing it's job: not sending out duplicate postings.
And it seems pretty clear to me that the problem is due to whatever is
sending the inbound mail to the listserv -- and for some reason it is
sending three extras.

Several subscribers (from around the country using what I assume are many
different types of email systems) have told me they experience the problem
also.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing this? I sincerely
appreciate any help you can provide.
