What I think you're saying, Eric, is that there are two problems with
SMTP.... (and UCLAMVS, and so on?).  One you say is fixed (when will
we get the fix?).  What is the other problem?  That you have to send
an answer or acknowledgement in some cases?  But you had correctly
identified the target (as well as one extraneous target, SMTP....).
 
Or am I really badly confused?
