I am running about 20 lists and have started to have a problem with one of them. Each post seems to shut down the list with the following error:

An error occurred while logging mail to the archives of the LISTNAME list. An incomplete copy of the message might be present in the archive file. The list is being held to prevent further occurrences of this error.

Please take corrective action and issue a "FREE LISTNAME " command when you want the message to be reprocessed.

Hello.

I'm seeking some config advice.

I am not the Listserv admin at our site, but I do manage the Postfix
SMTP servers that Listserv forwards through.

I see thousands of these 450 errors in the logs everyday:

Jun 9 03:36:26 smtp-p2 postfix/smtpd[18435]: connect from
listserv.wheaton.edu[192.138.89.115]
Jun 9 03:36:26 smtp-p2 postfix/smtpd[18435]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from
listserv.wheaton.edu[192.138.89.115]: 450 4.1.2
<[log in to unmask]>: Recipient address rejected: Domain not
found;
from=<owner-remark-users*redacted*-redacted**WHEAETON*[log in to unmask]>
to=<[log in to unmask]> proto=ESMTP helo=<listserv>
Jun 9 03:36:26 smtp-p2 postfix/smtpd[18435]: lost connection after RCPT
from listserv.wheaton.edu[192.138.89.115]
Jun 9 03:36:26 smtp-p2 postfix/smtpd[18435]: disconnect from
listserv.wheaton.edu[192.138.89.115]

I believe this is because Listserv tries to send via the SMTP server,
ignores the 450 response from the SMTP server, and tries over and over
again.

I can clear it up if I login to the Listserv box and delete all the mail
for which I've seen this symptom, but that's a pain.

What is the recommended/normal way to setup a Postfix relay so that
Listserv can figure out that it's trying to send to a bad domain and
thus remove the mail from the queue?

Thanks!

Greetings Listservers,

I have a user who reported that his direct web URL links to his lists'
notebook archives stopped working. I was puzzled by this since I thought
that notebooks were only available through the web portal. What am I
missing? Thanks for any help.

All,

I should add that about the time we started having these issues, we began using Mimecast. We are looking into whether or not that might have anything to do with this.

Thanx,

Subject: Probe failure errors

Listserv Gurus and Mentors,

Beginning a few weeks ago, nearly all of our Listserv daily error monitoring reports show the Last error as "5.1.0 Probe failed", as shown in the example below. This is strange for several reasons:

· We don’t do probing.

· The number of failures increased rapidly a couple of weeks ago.

· We used to see other types of errors, but now we only see Probe failed errors.

It’s as though the legitimate reasons for the errors are all being changed to Probe failed instead of what they should be.

Here is an example of a recent report with names and email addresses redacted to protect the innocent:

Hello everyone! I'm hoping to get some expert help on an issue we are having.

we are moving from an on prem exchange server to O365, and our listserv is one of the last things we need to move off of the on prem relay.

i'm leveraging the following documents:

https://www.lsoft.com/news/techtipLSV-issue3-2015.asp

http://www.lsoft.com/resources/pdf/wp-UsingMSIISSMTP.pdf

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/Exchange/mail-flow-best-practices/how-to-set-up-a-multifunction-device-or-application-to-send-email-using-office-3?redirectSourcePath=%252farticle%252fHow-to-set-up-a-multifunction-device-or-application-to-send-email-using-Office-365-69f58e99-c550-4274-ad18-c805d654b4c4

and we are really struggling to get our emails to flow through o365. When we send an email, i see it flow through the IIS SMTP service, into the "Queue" folder, then it ends up in the "badmail" folder with the following error:

Action: failed
Status: 5.2.0
Diagnostic-Code: smtp;554 5.2.0 STOREDRV.Submission.Exception:SendAsDeniedException.MapiExceptionSendAsDenied; Failed to process message due to a permanent exception with message Cannot submit message

This implies to me that it is an issue with our connection to O365, but i can not determine where that error is. we did set it up per the first link, so with smtp.o365.com, port 587 and an authenticated mailbox. When i use that relay to "test" emails, sending as the authenticated user, mail flows, so i know the connector works.

Has anyone gone through this that may be able to shed some light on the situation? we'd prefer to use an authenticated connection to smtp.o365.com instead of relaying off of the protection link from the mx record, but maybe thats the only way, despite what the lsoft documentation states? Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated in this.

Thank you everyone.

I am seeing several cases where Office 365 is automatically blocking
email addresses associated with the "owner" addresses of some of our
LISTSERV mailing lists, usually shortly after a legitimate email is
distributed to the list members.   So far, I have not been able to
identify the likely cause of these blocks.  Any suggestions?

First, I must say that I may have asked this before. Does anyone know of a way to query the lists for all of a certain property through the Web User Interface? My systems counterpart is able to pull it from configuration files, but I was hoping to assist using the Web UI. For example, looking for all lists that have an additionally defined sender in the Send property or finding all lists defined as Send = "Editor" with other variations possible. Please let me know if there is a method that I am missing or if I already asked this question, then tell me to get over it and move on. Thank you for your help!

Thank you for your time,

I have listserv 16.5, and for some time now, it appears that listserv is not processing exclusions. I have a number of .txt files set up for my lists, for inclusions and exclusions. The inclusions seem to work just fine, not so with exclusions. Permissions appear to be the same, so I am not sure why exclusions are being ignored.

Thanks!

Hi,

When a user sends a message to a list, the distributed message - i.e.
the message that gets delivered to all subscribers, contains the
"Sender:" field with the list address and the "From:" field with the
original sender's address.

It there a way to hide the original sender address and use the list
address also for the "From:" field?

Kind regards,

I have a couple lists with specified senders. One of the senders had been able to send, but now apparently cannot. Others send just fine. Sender is still in the approved senders list. I have it set up to require a confirmation, which she doesn't get. I haven't looked at her Outlook yet, so the confirm email may be going into a junk folder. Are there other things I can check?

One of my listserv users got the daily error monitoring report

Err First Last Address

2 12/11 12/11 [log in to unmask]

Err= Number of delivery errors received thus far

First= Date first delivery error was received (mm/dd)

Last= Date of most current delivery error (mm/dd)

It says 2 errors on the same date, I want to understand when this user will
be auto-deleted from the list, and if the list is blocked by the office365
outbound spam filter, will the listserv continue to try to send the
messages to failed users??

below is the definition received at the end of the monitoring report.

Subscribers will be automatically deleted from the list when delivery

errors have been reported for a period of 4 days or more, or when more

than 100 delivery errors have been received, whichever occurs first.

Monitoring will cease after 5 days without any reported errors.

I am testing version 16.5 with the intention to upgrade from 16.0. I use UODBC support with the QUERY() function; I don't implement the entire RDBMS interface. With my production system using 16.0, everything works fine. For example, I use these keywords:

Sub-Lists= Query(BY_ROLE,jim-test-mh,member)

Editor= Query(BY_ROLE,ADVISING-P017-NDEG,EDITOR)

with my new test system using 16.5, things aren't going so well. The system OS is the same, the UODBC libraries are the same, but I'm having problems with 16.5 that don't happen with 16.0. Here are some things I observed so far:

1) the first attempt after restarting the listserv daemon to APPROVE a message using a URL hangs in the web interface. The approval works, but the "wa" program never returns anything to the browser, resulting in an eventual time-out. After the first failure, subsequent approvals appear to work fine.

2) each successful distribution that uses a QUERY() to retrieve a sub-list is delayed by two minutes and six seconds.

3) only a handful of test distributions work after a restart of the listserv daemon. After about 4 or 5 successes, they fail, logging this message:

12 Dec 2018 11:52:26 Connecting to UODBC data source DEFAULT...
>>> S1000/2005: [unixODBC][MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver]Unknown MySQL server host 'foo' (2)
>>> 08003/0: [unixODBC][Driver Manager]Connnection does not exist
12 Dec 2018 11:56:38 >>> Error X'0100002B' processing dynamic query list <<<
12 Dec 2018 11:56:38 -> Severity: Error
12 Dec 2018 11:56:38 -> Facility: DBMS interface
12 Dec 2018 11:56:38 -> Abstract: No such column

I'd like to enable more debugging, both for the "wa" program and the distribution mechanism.

We are trying to figure out which template(s) prints these two screens:

- /cgi-bin/wa?LOGON
- /cgi-bin/wa?GETPW1

So can edit them, to reduce access to them. Ideally, we would love to fully disable that capability (the "Register LISTSERV Password" one). Any tips appreciated.

We have encountered a problem with a listserv we cannot delete. The web interface shows the listserv and it is still sending out probes. Hi All,

After several years of smooth sailing, all of a sudden today I get the following error when trying to log onto ListServ:

Error during command authentication.

Error - unable to initiate communication with LISTSERV (errno=10061, phase=CONNECT, target=127.0.0.1:2306). The server is probably not started.
The ListServ website is running on a VM that a company manages, and it appears that the server did restart unexpectedly today (meaning possible config changes may have went into effect, or???), so perhaps they changed something, and I have a support ticket open with them.

I can connect to the SQL Server ListServ database server.
The only connection info I see on the ListServ web server, is an ODBC data source, and that data source also connects to the SQL Server where the ListServ database resides.

Any ideas where to being?

I've reached out to ListServ consulting to see if they can get me some support...

Thanks,
Brent

Hi All,

I have a list setup to NOT Auto-Delete Subscribers.

Yet in a single day (10/10/2018), 126 Subscribers were deleted from the list.

Q. How can I see WHO did this?

The .changelog file and the CHANGELOG database table simply show me the deleted subscribers and the time they were deleted, but not who deleted them.
I can't believe a product that has been around so long, wouldn't log the user who performed the action...

Thanks,

Hello list,

In a message that is distributed through a list, the original sender
address is visible in headers such as "From:" or "X-Sender:".

I want to completely hide (omit) the original sender address from a
message that is distributed to the list.

The list address itself should be in the "From:" header.

I have an announce list, and I would subscribers to see no reference at
all to whoever sent the message originally. They should only be able to
see the list address itself.

Is this possible?

Thanks,

Isn’t SMTP_Forward_N HPO only?  I might be wrong, but I thought it wasn’t available to Classic.

Depending on how many connections your SMTP server will accept from another machine, use SMTP_FORWARD_n to set up several background processes that will handle the actual sending. For instance if your SMTP_FORWARD is set to smtp.example.com then you could spawn three workers by setting SMTP_FORWARD_n to smtp.example.com*3. This allows several connections to handle each batch of addresses and the additional benefit of letting the main listserv process be available instead of locked up trying to send all the mail by itself.

Greetings from the great northeast,

I am trying to edit the footer text that is applied to all lists. Ideally I want like to have a default footer applied at the time of list creation but would want to be able to modify that for some lists.

Questions:

~ Where is the default list footer message controlled?
~ Is there a way to modify this for some lists?
~ What Listserv doc might help me in this process?

Thanks so much. I'll wash the car of anyone who offers a suggestion.*

to create a list with up to 300.000 recipients, and send them a limited
number of messages.

The question is: Will the Listserv Classic version be able to process
300.000 recipients within a reasonable amount of time (say, a few hours
max)?

I don't have any experience with such large numbers of recipients.
Unfortunately we cannot afford a Listserv HPO license. However, purely
from a mailserver point of view, my server resources should be
sufficient to handle this large number of recipients.

Apart from a well considered list configuration, is there anything I
should take into account when sending this large number of mails?

Just to be sure: We have verified that this list owner is legitimate and
is not going to send spam.

Thanks,

Lucas

Hello,
We have a large amount of lists, some of which have fallen out of use, but I was wondering if there is a quick way to query which lists are currently being held. I think I see a way to mass free them, but I do not want to free them if there is a chance it could tell me the list is older and no longer used. I have looked through documentation a couple of times for this, but have not spotted it yet. I could just be missing it, but I was curious if anyone out there could tell me. Thanks for the help! Have a great day!

Hello,

We used ListServ 16.0 HPO in Solaris.

There are some lists have the setting:

ACK=YES

Unfortunately, one of the lists was under attack. There were 5,000+ times since two days ago. The spammers used faked email, therefore bounced the acknowledge (confirmation) to the unknown victims.

Our email spam vendor started flagging some of our listserv digest emails as spam. When we sent them a sample for specific analysis, they said it was due to a malformed boundary string, which is treated as suspicious:

Content-Type: multipart/related; type="text/html";
boundary="----------------------------"

Looking inside some of these emails, the use of that boundary string is not happening all the time.
We are running 16.0. Is there a configuration option to change this, or is this fixed in a newer version?

We're getting ready to send out a fairly large job via maestro that will involve a mail merge and a good number of duplicate recipients with different merge data. When sending out the test copies they were directed to the same email address with separate merge data. Maestro reports it being sent to two recipients but only one copy was sent and delivered. Looking at the listserv log I see the data being handed off from Maestro for both records. However for the actual address to send to I see it listed as [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> PROBE for both. Given both records used that as the recipient I have a feeling the PROBE setting makes listserv try to send only one probe per unique address defeating our use of duplicate recipients.

Is there a setting in either maestro or listserv to have it not PROBE the addresses? I can't find anything that may help and I'd like to avoid having to send each duplicate as a separate job. As an extra degree of difficulty I cannot use xxx+1, xxx+2 as the recipient as our SMTP server hates it.

Hi -

I had to do some shuffling around of folders and I missed a config somewhere.

All of my lists are setup so the notebook folder is set to A.
In my site.cfg I have this: WWW_ARCHIVE_DIR=C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\Archives

When I look into the archives the listing of weeks looks normal and if I pick a week the most recent three or four posts' subjects are displayed. If I hover over a post, the preview comes up correctly. But if I click on a post I get the following message:

The archive files could not be accessed, either because the list does not have Web-accessible archives or because they are being updated. If you know that the list has Web archives, please try again in about 30 seconds, and report the problem if it persists for more than a few minutes. The file that could not be opened is 'E:\Program\basf-famlaw.log1807d' and the error code was 2 (No such file or directory).

So somewhere I have the archive pointed wrong. Any ideas where?

Thanks,

Bruce

We are trying to upgrade to the new build of ListServ 16, and have
something wonky.

The install script says that everything completed correctly, but the
install log shows this in it.:

/bin/ld: cannot find -lclntsh

/bin/ld: cannot find -ldb2

collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status

make[1]: *** [lsv_prog] Error 1

make[1]: Leaving directory `/tmp/LISTSERVinstall5662'

make: *** [lsv] Error 2

The log just says that a crash file can't be found.

and when we run the go script, we get this:

/home/listserv/go2: line 22: ./lsv: cannot execute binary file

the lsv file is indeed binary, and seems to be identical to one that is
working on another unrelated server.

We haven't tried making individual pieces/parts yet.

Thoughts?

We recently completed a significant upgrade to our listserv
infrastructure, which unforunately included 3 significant changes:

1) We went from a very old 15.5 to 16.0 (the intent is to upgrade to
16.5 soon, but we wanted to minimize the visible change from this
portion of the upgrade)

2) We started using it to handle mailing lists for a large number of
classes (so there are literally thousands of list for different
classes). Previously, the number of class lists was much smaller. Each
of these class lists does a dynamic database query to get the
subscribers and owners.

3) We moved from DB2 to Oracle.

As of the last couple days, our listserv is being rendered useless due
to database operations.

What happens, in the logs I see:

10 Jul 2018 12:24:08 From [ANONYMOUS]: X-LOGCK 644769FB6AA0CBC93D
AUTHINFO(97.97.58.231) ORGINFO(97.97.58.231) WM: LIST O(...)

followed immediately by thousands of SQL lookups:

SQL> SELECT email from OUR_TABLE where list = 'FALL-2018-...' and
owner_group = '1'

it appears that listserv tries to look up the emails for every one of
the dynamic lists. This takes quite a while, during which time the
listserv interface is unresponsive, and no mail is being delivered.

Unfortunately, these queries are happening many times over the course of
the day.

I know that other listserv installations can query ours to get
information about lists, but in our go.user file, we have:

RUNMODE="STANDALONE"

which I thought would isolate us.

I'm looking into this, but due to the immediate impact, I'm hoping that
someone can provide some information sooner than I will find it.

Specifically, I would like to know what is happening, and how I can
prevent it.

Thanks so much.

I'm in the process of migrating an existing (but old) listserv
installation to a new version running on new servers. I've gotten
almost everything working (for example, I can do all the operations in
the web gui, send mail to lists, etc.).

The one thing that isn't working which confuses me is communicating with
the new listserv via. email.

If I send mail with a listserv command in it to:

[log in to unmask]

listserv receives the message, but logs:

Processing file 0009 from [log in to unmask]
No such list, generating bounce

So it appears to be looking for a list named 'listserv' rather than
treating that as a special listserv command.

The bounce is:

--> Error description:
Error-For: [log in to unmask]
Error-Code: 5.1.1
Error-Text: No such list.
Error-End: One error reported.

I'm using basically the same config (go.user) as before, but I'm sure
I'm missing something very simple.

Any hints what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks.

I recently migrated a LISTSERV 16.0 system to a new host running RHEL 7.5 (Oracle Linux 7.5) and LISTSERV 16.5. Everything seems to be functioning normally, but SELINUX was turned off.

Now that the migration is complete, we would like to turn SELINUX. We started by running with SELINUX in 'permissive' mode for several weeks and then followed the steps outlined in the whitepaper "Using LISTSERV with Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux)". Many things work like receiving messages, posting and archiving, and distribution. Some do not -- like being able to use the webinterface to read some archived messages. We have run the the steps in the whitepaper several times over several days to 'update' the SELINUX rules without any noticeable change in behavioir.

I know the simple answer is "just don't run SELINUX". However, I would like to take advantage of the extra layer of security. If you are running SELINUX in 'enforcing' mode on RHEL 7.x, did you have to make any changes to the steps outlined in the whitepaper?

When we upgraded to 16.0 earlier this year we pretty much lost any decent capability to search our archives. I see from the archives here, that at least one other person has noticed the same issue. If a word is used too many times, it isn't indexed at all, and we're thrown an error as if someone searched for "the". The most active list we have, doesn't have any archive searches coming up after 2015, when it does return results for one of those more common terms.

How many people are running into this problem? Have you found a solution?

Lsoft can you please address this?

Hello list,

In light of the GDPR coming into effect in Europe, I have some questions
about account management in ListServ.

- Does ListServ itself use cookies that would require a cookie warning
on the web interface?

- How are user accounts stored? Is the password that users configure
encrypted in any way?

- if users request to have their personal data removed I am obliged to
do so. Is there a way to remove user accounts from the ListServ
database?

- What is the function of the signup.file* files in the ListServ home
directory? Which addresses end up in these files? Can these files be
edited manually?

Thank you for your help.

Hi list,

I am a bit confused about the ListServ DIGEST function.

In the List configuration, under Distribution, there is a Digest
function. The help text states:

"The list owner decides whether digests are available or not, the
frequency at which they are issued, and the day of week or time of day
when the digest should be distributed."

However, list subscribers are able to configure Subscription Type
"Digest", irrespective of whether the list owner has configured digests.

What happens if the list owner did not configure Digest, but the
subscriber does? Is the subscriber setting ignored? Or is there some
built-in Digest function that works irrespective of the list
configuration?

Kind regards,

Lucas

All,

A few months ago we upgraded to the latest version of Listserv. Shortly after that, list users started to point out that the archive searches are no longer working. This may not be related to the upgrade, but the timing is uncanny.

The problem is that most archive searches now return this message:

Your search produced no results. Check your search string and the lists that you selected and try again.

We know that the search terms appear in the archive many times. It appears that if a word appears too many times in a list, it isn’t indexed, and that this threshold is suddenly lower than it used to be. We never used to have this problem.

Has anyone else seen this? If so, how are you compensating for it?

L-Soft has suggested that we upgrade to their HPO license or break our archives down into smaller segments. The HPO license is too pricey for us, and segmenting our archives will be difficult for us to do and for users to search.

Does anyone have any better suggestions?

Thanx,

Reed

We have a list with approximately 4100 subscribers that appears to not be distributing messages that are being sent to it. Hello Everyone,

We are in the process of migrating our college to Office 365. So far, it has gone smoothly but there have been those "Didn't think of that" glitches.

One of the biggest ones is that migrated users that send messages to a mailing list with a digest format, has the message arrive in plain text with a Winmail.dat attachment.

Has anyone had this issue before with Office 365? The problem seems to be that the Digest format is turned into the Microsoft NTEF format, then Listserv put it in Digest format then sends it out to the mailing list subscribers but when it gets back to Office 365, Office 365 does not know how to handle the file so it creates a winmail.dat file.

I have found instruction on how to turn off the TNEF format on Office365 in the remote domains but have not set up that fix as of yet. But the issue is that I don't want to turn off the TNEF format for all outside domains since that would kill any Outlook functions ..

Please let me know if anyone has a had anything similar happen with Listserv and Office 365.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Brett

Starting this week, I have had a few attempts by spammers to send using my lists. My guess is a staff member somewhere on my campus got some sort of virus, and the names of some of the lists got out. The webUI is behind a firewall and not accessible off campus, so, it likely isn't coming from that angle. I also have the lists set up to require confirmation to send, well the ones not used as a discussion list, anyways. And most of them are set to only have certain people authorized to send, aside from the discussion lists. Is there a way to set it so that only addresses from a certain domain can send? Any other spam controls that would be recommended?

Good afternoon,

NIH is still on ListServ version 16.0 but we hope to be able to release our new upgraded server into production soon. In the meantime, we have received a request to add support for DMARC to our current environment, specifically for GSA. We were informed that we could add variables to our current site.cfg for recipients who require DMARC. It was suggested that we add a line as you see below to the site.cfg file and then restart the listserv instance:

DEBUG_DMARC_REWRITE=GSA.GOV<http://nist.gov/>

Is the above entry and process the correct method to satisfy this request in our current environment?

I need to set up ssl fo that the webui is secured.
Openssl and mod ssl is installed. I madethe certs and keys.
I am working on the changes to ssl.conf, mainly the virtual host entry.
I am trying to figure out what my document root is, so I can put it into the virtualhost entry.
I have tried a couple of things, and on restarting httpd, I get an error that it cannot find with doc root location.
The webui still works, it just is not secure.
This rhel6 server serves no other webpages, just my listserv. Which was installed without any special changes.

Hi,

An owner of many lists (100+) is retiring. I need to add her successor to ListServ as the owner of all of her lists.

I'd obviously like to do it all at once rather than add the new person to each list through the web UI.

Q. Is there a way to add a single user as an owner, to multiple lists all at one time?

Or

Q. Could I just update the LISTSERV sql server database record for the person who is retiring and change the NAME and EMAIL fields to the person who is taking her place? I'd be shocked if that would work, but had to ask...

Or

Q. Can I just run a SQL INSERT statement to add the new user to the database, and use the values from the fields of the current owner's record?

I've looked at the values stored in the database, I've searched for the answer to this but didn't find anything...

Thanks,
Brent

Hello,

I have a user that can post to a List no problem, she has since received a new email address which affects her display name.

So in the From: field

It prepopulates it with her old email display name.

Work done so far:

* Removed and re-added her as an owner/moderator to the List

* Cleared all her browser historic settings i.e passwords, previous pages visited

* Created a Test List - identical to the Production List - to test with - still same issue - pre-populates the From: field with her old display name

She can manually overwrite the old display in her new address but this is becoming tedious for the user, any suggestions would be great,

I have a public list, with a closed subscription. Is there a way to limit (per domain, or IP range) on a public list who is allowed to post to it? If so, how? Thanks!

Cheers,

I have an Owner who sends to multiple lists from one resource SMTP email address. He is now receiving SPAM notifications from ListServ where he sends an *almost* identical message to multiple lists within a short period of time. The only difference in the messages are the recipient address and the name of the server which is very close in name (3-6 unique chars out of 12-15 total) due to naming conventions. The Owner is requesting that we whitelist the smtp address of the sender. We try to avoid whitelisting due to potential security risks, so I suggested the Super/Sub-list solution or adding a time stamp or greeting text to make each notification clearly unique but my suggestions were rejected.

At this time, the Send settings on the list allow subscribers, Owners and Editors to send without confirmation. The Owner has added the sending address as a subscriber to the many lists. Would it help to add the sending address as an Owner of the lists or is our only alternative to whitelist the address if the Owner is not amenable to my suggested solutions?

Thank you
Janice

Good morning all

I have asked L-Soft support but also wanted to ask the group. Does anyone know the command(s) or have code or easy method to extract the individual messages from monthly indexed list archives? The reason I ask is because NIH has a FOIA request to provide messages sent to a particular list but only those messages sent from nih.gov addresses. I ran an archive report and found that out of the 1800+ messages distributed via this list, only 126 were sent from nih.gov addresses. These 126 messages are contained within many of the 56 monthly indexed log files. I am trying to avoid a manual process if possible.

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Hi -

I've had three posts (from the same list) rejected today. Each with an error message similar to:

>>> Error X'00000065' during virtual disk slot emulation for "" <<<

-> Severity: Severe error

-> Facility: Generic error codes

-> Abstract: Logic error detected

-> Rejected: Invalid virtual disk slot designation -

"".

>>> Error X'00000065' logging message to archives <<<

-> Severity: Severe error

-> Facility: Generic error codes

-> Abstract: Logic error detected

Any idea what I should be looking for? As well, things don't seem to be getting into the archives.

Thanks,

Bruce
