Sendmail works, per the below. I emailed this aliases file using the .forward file, which had my [log in to unmask] account.
How does my aliases file look? I just rebooted to, no joy. I'll try an older aliases and sendmail.cf file
All of these user profiles in this aliases file will not accept emails. If I rem out these aliases entries for say listserv, listserv will get the email.
I'm using a precompiled lsv_amin. It all was working too, this is not a new install.
segate.sunet.se$ /usr/lib/sendmail -bv [log in to unmask]
"|/usr/local/bin/lsv_amin -t listserv"... deliverable: mailer prog, user "|/usr/local/bin/lsv_amin -t listserv"
segate.sunet.se$
Mine is a bit different because I'm using the precompiled version of lsv_amin.
virginia:/etc # sendmail -bv [log in to unmask]
"|/usr/local/bin/lsv_amin /home/listserv/spool listserv"... deliverable: mailer prog, user "|/usr/local/bin/lsv_amin /home/listserv/spool listserv"
virginia:/etc #
... If I had heart failure right now, I couldn't be a more fortunate
man!!
I like that....
TIA!!!

Of course you do need ssh ;-) Really, it should not matter.
What does the aliases file look like?
Have you rebuilt it?
What is the output of
" sendmail -bv listserv@<your hostname here> "?
Mine, for reference:
segate.sunet.se$ /usr/lib/sendmail -bv [log in to unmask]
"|/usr/local/bin/lsv_amin -t listserv"... deliverable: mailer prog, user "|/usr/local/bin/lsv_amin -t listserv"
segate.sunet.se$
virginia:/etc # sendmail -bv [log in to unmask]
"|/usr/local/bin/lsv_amin /home/listserv/spool listserv"... deliverable: mailer prog, user "|/usr/local/bin/lsv_amin /home/listserv/spool listserv"
virginia:/etc #
(Note that sendmail lives on different places on different
Unices, and I can't right now remeber where it is on AIX;
best bet is either in /usr/lib or in /usr/sbin.)
Happy fault-tracing! ;-)
