We have a handful of lists that have large archives. They vary from
2 to 15 years. Often (always?) when these lists are searched,
listserv crashes. I have a cron job that runs every 15 minutes and
reboots the server if it is not running.
I believe LSOFT has recommended that the older archives be moved to a
different list since they never change. Is this the only solution?
Has anyone done this? I can imagine a modified web page for the
archives that would point to the older archives. Searchers via
e-mail would just have to realize that there was another list for the
older archives.
