Harry, I would think that your local users are the ones least likely
to be affected by the name change. Around here there is just about
no reason to ever use our local node name. In fact, our mailer even
get upset if you try to send mail to another user on this machine
using a network style address. About the only time I use my node
name is when I'm sending someone my address in non-electronic
form. If you add the new name as an alias now I would think you
should be able to train your users well in advance of the change.
Of course, anyone who's just had new business cards printed may not
appreciate you too much :-)
