You cannot turn this off. LISTSERV  is sitting, by design, on the .BITNET
domain, rather  than your local  domain. Without the  .BITNET, DISTRIBUTE
jobs processed at your site end  up being sent to, say, [log in to unmask]
rather  than the  intended destination,  with  the results  that you  can
imagine. The problem is that  your MAILER is feeding LISTSERV unqualified
addresses; this is bound to cause  problems and should be fixed. Changing
the domain  LISTSERV is  sitting in  would cause  TELL requests  from the
network to send replies to addresses like [log in to unmask]
