Apple announced that the online service was going away, however the mailing
lists will still be around and given the additional support of web pages
associated with each list to boot.
This comes from Larry Tesler, one of Apple's VPs who has been the main
contact for mailing lists up to this point. Larry's work with the lists
is being taken over by Michael Mimeles (rhymes with "similes") as Larry
is being moved to another project.
So... not will they host a list free, they'll also host an associated
web page. Maybe starting a list at eWorld *isn't* such a bad thing after
all.
(Note: They won't automatically start a list for just any topic... but
since many dog-related lists are already hosted there, including the
Terrier list, it's probably a good place to start asking.)
