We are running LISTSERV version 1.8b on a SunOS (4.1.3) system and are
experiencing a problem I haven't been able to track down. At times,
requests to the LISTSERV including postings to various lists get delayed,
sometimes for hours. This can be a problem in that at least one of the
lists is used for the purposes of notifying people of current system
outages.
I have looked into the problem on several occasions and really couldn't
find an explanation for it. Requests do not necessarily seem to get
processed in the order in which they are sent. It's been awhile since I've
even investigated, but while I was on vacation last week, this happened
again, and the list owner is very upset and wants me to figure out what and
fix it, understandably enough. But I really don't know where to start,
other than installing the latest version.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
