As has been mentioned elsewhere, a primary link in the LISTSERV backbone (SEGATE
in Sweden) was down for several days.  Command responses go directly.  List mail
(including digests) travels by the backbone and if a key link/hub server is
down, it can fail. SEGATE was restored yesterday some time.
