LISTSERV can keep it's subscriber information in a DBMS, which LISTSERV
interfaces via ODBC. This allows you to manage subscriptions directly in
the DBMS, if you want to. Subscribers still interact with LISTSERV via
email (or web interface), but their info is stored in the DBMS. This is
all described in the Developer's Guide.
