Of course you need not do LIST GLOBAL, but instead
LIST GLOBAL /string
Teach you students how to do THAT.
If not, use the following technique to fetch the format that you
desire (minus the node name, which is irrelevant any ways if you use
any (backbone) LISTSERV's knowledge of where to subscribe to a list).
Send this to any LISTSERV site that contains the LISTS db such as:
