I don't think John or David addressed the issue(s). I don't
think the issue is what do AOL patrons do (or not do) with their
e-mail box, but if LISTSERV technology on certains platforms can
EFFECTIVELY DISTRIBUTE mail to 140k users via an (appropriately
sized) platform and network.
A corollary is SHOULD you use e-mail for that sized list, or
instead user alternative media such as Usenet or in-house BBS?
This of course is a matter of tools, facilities, education and
training (and is an internal issue where I sit).
