In other words,  Your people are sending this command:

 UNSUBSCRIBE listname Karen Jones
 or
 SIGNOFF listname Karen Jones

This is incorrect.  The correct command format is simply:

 UNSUBSCRIBE listname
 or
 SIGNOFF listname

Note there is no name or email address.
