As far as copyright goes, each person has a copyright on everything
he writes from the moment it is written, under current law.  No
copyright notice is necessary and there is no requirement to register
the copyright.  Allowing ones material to be bounced around without
restriction might put it in the Public Domain, though.
 
As a practical matter, most people do not object to having material
they send to lists forwarded.  If they do, it is hoped they say so.
It is polite to ask first, though.
