I couldn't say when it started, but it seems to be a (relatively) recent
development.

I've noticed that a Google search for my address turns up a bunch of WA
links to the archives of my public list, but there's not a thing for the
archives of private lists where I turn up.

Formerly, Google did not find messages from my public list's archive.
