I recently became a co-listowner and have observed that one
long time member, who uses Thunderbird for Mac OS X and
isn't intuitive with technology, keeps posting replies
whose subject lines are full of extra spaces and "Re:"s, as
well as extra "[N]"s (my list's Subject-tag= N).
This would only be annoying if it stopped there, however,
when other list-members reply to her replies, even more
spaces and "Re:"s and "[N]"s get added. Here is a
particularly illustrative (and hilarious) example ("BG" is
the one who's causing all the trouble):
JB: 05/03/04 "[N] Neurontin"
BG: 05/03/04 "[N] Re: [N] Neurontin"
JB: 05/03/05 "[N] Re: [N] Re: [N] Neurontin"
RM: 05/03/05 "[N] Re: [N] Re: [N] Re: [N] Neurontin"
JB: 05/03/06 "[N] Re: [N] Re: [N] Re: [N] Re: [N] Neurontin"
RM: 05/03/06 "[N] Re: [N] Re: [N] Re: [N] Re: [N] Re: [N] Neurontin"
I wrote to the List Owners' list at Maelstrom, but no one
seems to know what is causing this. Maelstrom.stjohns.edu
uses LISTSERV 1.8d.
Does anyone know what is causing this to happen, or know
what "BG" needs to do in Thunderbird to fix this problem?
