I agree with Joan's comments for most lists.  However, the style of
words-l is that ALL things are EXPECTED to be sent to the list.  It is
more of a cocktail party than a scholarly list such as Joan's, and people
carry on extended "personal" conversations on ON LIST.   For words-l I
would support the change Natalie suggests.
 
cyclops, who uses respect on his other lists...but not words-l...
