It has been my experience that /taonode/ relates to an
Emc2/TAO e-mail system (either VM or MVS) sold by a
company called Fischer International (that's not the
problem site though, just the vendor).
 
Have your node administrator/postmaster check the SMTP and
RSCS logs (more than likely just SMTP) at your LISTSERV
site at around the time of the subscription request.  This
will often times reveal the IP and FQDN of the
transmitting site that was used by the "bogus" mail.
