I am using the following version: LISTSERV(R) for Windows version 1.8e
The test email I sent had the subject = *HIDE* Boys,Girls: This is a
test msg!
As far as the X-headers...where would I put that in the email?

What version of LISTSERV are you running? Did you put a space after
*HIDE*?
The other option is to add an X-header to the email, but that may be
anywhere from easy to impossible to do, depending on how you are
sending the email:
Subject: This is the subject line
X-LSVTopics: Animals,Sports,Stocks
