I read once that the Kidlink family of lists created a new list just to
manage error messages, so that in effect an owner there can get just 1
message each day that is a digest of all the error messages. Helps
reduce the clutter in ones inbox.
That is cool.
Are there any long term plans for listserv to provide such a feature
as an option to a list? So you don't have to setup a 2nd list each time?
The normal digest feature of listserv is such a neat thing, being built
in; that is one of the things that really distinguishes it from other
mailing list software like Majordomo. So to have a digest version option
of the error messages also woudl be a great addition! I know many owners
who would love to have such a thing.
Also, since so many error messages are duplicates, it would be neat if
listserv detected the duplicates, at least that occur that day, and give
you only one (and perhaps a count of how many). Overall, though, I would
prefer the digest if I had to choose between these two.
