maintaining such user accounts since their configuration very
well might not be compliant with various LISTSERV list options
such as SEND= PRIVATE.
 
This is one of the reasons for CONFIRM processing to begin with:
ensuring that a valid two-way path of communications exists
between the user and the LISTSERV host(s).
