The thing  though is  that it  costs a  lot less  resources to  deliver a
typical newsletter by e-mail than over  the web. So, if you put something
on the  web, and 140k people  actually *read* it, you'll  have spent more
horsepower and  a lot more  bandwidth (given that  on the web  you'd feel
obliged to include an image or three to keep up with the Joneses) than if
you'd mailed it to these people directly.
