Here is a clue to those folks who subscribe to lists,
and then throw away the instructions for how to unsubscribe:
 
FIRST try sending a one-line text message TO: mlm@host
with the text
 
UNSUB list
 
where mlm= name of software package, typically LISTSERV, LISTPROC,
           MAISER, MAJORDOMO, MXSERVER
 
     host= the name of the host (Fully Qualified Domain Name)
 
e.g., e-mail [log in to unmask]
 
UNSUB lstown-l
 
LAST, if the above does not work, e-mail listname-REQUEST@host
text similar to the above (UNSUB).
