I highly encourage subscribers on the lists that I co-operate, who's
subject matter is not related to virus or hoaxes to refrain from using
the list to discuss / warn about such issues unless said discussion was
somehow directly related. E.g., I co-operate a list about financial aid
management at institutions of higher education. Virus warnings aren't
welcomed there unless if was somehow related to a specific F.A. program.
What is important is to educate subscribers, customers, users about
proper prophylactic procedures and techniques. Every such warning/hoax
is an opportunity to do that. That isn't usually the list-owners' job,
but the customer's support staff.
