Following up on Stan's note, if you decide not to re-PUT the filelist
for some reason, you should issue an UNLOCK listname FILELIST command
to LISTSERV. Otherwise, the next time you try to GET listname FILELIST (CTL
you'll get a "listname FILELIST has been locked since timex by usery"
message.

This goes for list headers also. If you GET your list header and decide
you didn't really want to make changes, send an UNLOCK listname to
LISTSERV.

Note that you <can> use the (NOLOCK modifier to avoid locking the
filelist/header, e.g.,

GET listname FILELIST (CTL NOLOCK
GET listname (HEADER NOLOCK

But I don't recommend this unless you are the only person who has
list owner or filelist privileges.
