One thing that we've noticed about the default filtering of Exchange
MS-TNEF attachments is that it seems to be done under the assumption
that they are redundant (except for fancy formatting).  That's not
completely true.  There are circumstances when an attached file (a Word
document, for example), gets included in the MS-TNEF file, thus getting
stripped out by LISTSERV.  This took us quite a while to figure out
because LISTSERV 1.8d puts nothing into the message or headers to tell
you that it has stripped an attachment.  I hope that the new version
will do that.

Of course, MS-TNEF files continue to be unusable by anyone but Exchange
users.  This is less of a problem for lists internal to an organization
when it has a large majority of people using Exchange.
