You can ask the LISTSERV maintainer to rename the oldlistname.* files to
newlistname.* files and restart LISTSERV--I believe this will work.

It would probably nice if the LISTSERV maintainer created a mailing list
with the old name that forwarded to your new list, e.g.

PUT OLDNAME LIST PW=XXXXXXXX
* Owner= [log in to unmask]
* New-List= NEWNAME@site
