The problem isn't just potential.  ;-)

We had added "Mail-Merge: yes" on a recently-created list, and discovered
this problem for ourselves (when trying to figure out why several people
were mysteriously unsubscribed).  So we "solved" the issue by taking
Mail-Merge back out, which means subscribers get the more generic
cookieless unsubscribe link, such as the one which I've left, quoted,
below.  (The other way would have been editing the bottom banner, of
course).

It appeared from the logs that the folks who were unsubscribed this way
didn't get notified (though the owner did). Not sure if that should be
considered a bug or not.
