We have now been running postgrey (http://postgrey.schweikert.ch/) on our
umn.edu for more than a month. A new IP will see a delay of 5 minutes. IPs
will then be added to the database and further email from this IP will not
be grey listed.  We have not had a single user notice that we implemented
this process.  (We exclude local IPs from being grey listed. We believe
this has helped us somewhat dramatically in stopping the spammers at the
door.)
