We had the same problem with AOL on a list that I help run with 2000+
subscribers. The problem seems to stem from AOL's new effort to stop
junk mail and control mail overflow. Apparently when too much mail bounces
from one account (your listserv in this case) ALL mail from that account is
deflected by AOL's new filter. AOL at first didn't own up to this happening,b
but with enough phone calls to the right people one of the other co-listowners
got the story from AOL'
s techs. AOL puts the burden on us now, saying that we must control AOL users
mail and prevent it from bouncing or it will happen again. Yeah, right.

The ultimate irony is that I still get a HUGE amount of complete junk mail
to my AOL account - apparently this filter can't stop the spammers, but will
completely shut off useful listservs that AOL users want. Go figure.
