This isn't a matter of privacy and protection vs freedom and openness; it's
a matter of not re-writing history!  For an archive to have any value it
MUST be an exact record of any and all messages sent out, no matter how
embarrassing.  Once a message has been sent it cannot be recalled.  This
is not Orwell's "Ministry of Truth."
