Julie:
   You can also set up a WELCOME file which is easier to maintain than
MAILFORM because you can store it yourself.  However, it does require that
you ask your listserv postmaster/maintainer (ahem) to set up so you can
store files.
 
   Then all you do is store a file in your own archive area with the
name "listname WELCOME".  That file will be sent to new subscribers in
a separate item from the standard stuff.  If you make the first line
of your file
 
Subject: Welcome to My List
 
then that Subject will be used too!
 
   Let your listserv maintainer know if you are interested (and for
what list, etc.).   Marty
