1.8d has been available as public beta for many months at:

  ftp.lsoft.com/listserv/beta-1.8d

Many commercial and academic sites have already upgraded.  We have been
running it on our own production servers (send a SHOW VERSION command to
[log in to unmask]) for over a year so we consider it very stable.
Recent builds however must have a 1.8d LAK to start, since it now identifies
itself as 1.8d.
