I am a mailing list operator and frequently communicate with a mailing
list by sending various files or commands directly from the command line
using Smail that came with Linux Slackware 1.20. This is to a site
running LISTSERV.

Unfortunately, any time I mail from the command line, the file never gets
acted on (I never get a reply), but if I mail from within pine, I get
standard responses. I am at a loss to explain this inconsistency.

I am including a copy of two mail messages. Both with identical bodies,
but one created from the command line (ie: mail
[log in to unmask] < filename) and the other delivered from
the pine 3.89 mail program.

Anyone have ANY ideas what might be causing this problem? is it the
Content-Type: header perhaps? If so, how do I add one in to Smail?

Thanks for your help.
